Pagoda è lo pseudonimo di Giacomo Asti, cantautore nato a Parma. Dopo anni trascorsi ad ascoltare musica e suonare nei locali della sua città, nel 2019 decide di dedicarsi alla scrittura di canzoni in italiano. Nel 2021 entra in studio per registrare il suo primo album, "Amerigo Hotel", prodotto da Davide Chiari e Simone Piccinelli presso La Buca Recording Club di Montichiari. Il disco vede la partecipazione di musicisti di talento come Leonardo Barbieri (Strato’s), Leonardo Cavalca (Cubo di Rubik), Nicolas De Francesco (Lassociazione, Casa del Vento), Emanuele Nidi (cantautore), Domiziana Pelati (AyahuascA) e Lorenzo Zambini (Livermore). Il 8 ottobre 2021 esce il primo singolo "Madeleine", accompagnato da un video diretto da Michele Delmonte. Pagoda ha aperto il concerto di Steve Wynn (Dream Syndicate) a Parma, e nei mesi successivi sono usciti altri due singoli: "In un modo o nell’altro" e "San Lorenzo". Le influenze musicali di Pagoda variano dai Belle and Sebastian all'indie americano dei R.E.M., dal classic-rock di Tom Petty e the Heartbreakers all'alternative-folk dei Wilco, dal Paisley Underground dei Dream Syndicate al country-folk di John Prine. Il suo tono è diretto, candido, colloquiale, gracile, leggero, irrequieto e ironico. Le sue canzoni raccontano situazioni di vita quotidiana (rapporti di coppia, famiglia, amicizie, lavoro) con sincerità, trasmettendo insoddisfazioni, paure e speranze.
