What were we before?
Were we always what we are or
Were we made to change?
Is all that remains the will to start again or
Is there more retained
When another life begins?
Copycat, you can't look back
Your eyes, they haven't seen nothin'
But at the end when you're looking out for my eyes
You'll see that all is as all should be
As I fade away, you come to be and when the cycle ends
It begins with an unfamiliar me
Will you brave the decisions I made?
But maybe every mistake is placed deep beneath
The current we sustain
Copycat, you can't look back
Your eyes, they haven't seen nothin'
But at the end when you're looking out for my eyes
You'll see that all is as all should be
All is as all should be...
As I fade away
Will you finally come to be
Or will the cycle end?
The Dear Hunter is a full-time musical project of Casey Crescenzo, former member of the post-hardcore band The Receiving End of Sirens. The band's sound is not unlike that of Casey's former band, but with more alternative and progressive rock tendencies and a wider variety of instrumentation. Crescenzo has defined the project as a "continuously evolving concept album", with each album representing a chapter in an overarching narrative story. The Dear Hunter's music is characterized by catchy melodies, poetic lyrics and intricate arrangements, spanning from progressive rock to folk, passing through electronic and classical elements. Among the most representative tracks are "The Color of the End", "Act IV: The Sun and the Moon" and "The World's a Beautiful Place". Crescenzo has collaborated with numerous artists throughout his career, including members of bands like The Used and Saosin.
