Belphegor is an Austrian blackened death metal band from Salzburg, originally formed in 1991 under the name Betrayer before changing their name in 1993. The band's name derives from the demon Belphegor. Considered one of the pioneers of the blackened death metal genre, Belphegor are known for their aggressive and dark music, characterized by fast riffs, blast beats and guttural growls. Over the years they have released numerous successful albums, including "Blood Fire Death" (2002), "Lucifer Incestus" (2006) and "Conjuring the Storms" (2017). The band has also been featured in several international tours, sharing the stage with artists like Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel.
