You came 'round today
You never even knocked on my door
Your note tried to say
That you don't love me no more
Bridge:
I want you by my side cause
I want to be your man
I'm burning up inside cause
I want to be your man
I had to be told
From people that I meet in the street
They are turning cold
Without you I would not be complete
I want you by my side cause
I want to be your man
I'm burning up inside cause
I want to be your man
Why did you write me in a letter
A word from you would be much better
I want you by my side cause
I want to be your man
I'm burning up inside cause
I want to be your man
Don't cast me aside
Without you I could never survive
Why did you decide
To kill the love that keeps me alive
I want you by my side cause
I want to be your man
I'm burning up inside cause
I want to be your man
Nazareth is a Scottish rock band formed in Dunfermline in 1969 from the ashes of the semi-professional band The Shadettes. The group, consisting of Dan McCafferty (vocals), Manny Charlton (guitar), Pete Agnew (bass) and Darrell Sweet (drums), achieved success after relocating to London and signing a recording contract with Pegasus Records. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1971, followed by *Exercises* in 1972. It was their third album, *Razamanaz*, released in early 1973, that brought their first charting singles, "Broken Down Angel" and "Bad Bad Boy", both of which made it into the UK Top Ten. Nazareth continued to release successful music throughout the 1970s and 1980s, with albums such as *Loud 'n' Proud* (1973) and *Hair of the Dog* (1975). Their musical style is characterized by a mix of hard rock, blues and progressive influences. Among the band's most famous songs are "Love Hurts", "This Flight Tonight" and "The Party Don't Start 'Til I Walk In".
