Elio, stage name of Stefano Belisari (July 30, 1961), is an Italian singer and musician. Known for being the founder and frontman of the rock band Elio e le Storie Tese, active since 1980. Besides singing, he also plays transverse flute (an instrument he studied at the conservatory) and occasionally electric guitar and bass guitar. Elio e le Storie Tese are a reference point in Italian music for their originality, irony, and compositional talent. Among the most representative songs: 'La Terra dei Cachi', 'Cara Italia', 'Il Re del Mondo'. The album 'Storie Tese' (1989) is considered a turning point in the band's career.
