Qntal is a German electro-medieval rock band formed in 1991 by Michael Popp and Ernst Horn. Singer Syrah later joined the group. The origins of Qntal, whose main members are now Michael Popp and Syrah, can be traced back to the previous band Estampie, which performed music of the same genre but with a different style. Ernst Horn left the group in 1999 to focus on the other band he was part of, Deine Lakaien, and in 2001 founded Helium Vola. Fil joined Qntal after Horn's departure. The sound of Qntal blends medieval elements with electronic sounds, creating a suggestive and enveloping atmosphere. Among the most representative songs of the group are "The Last Unicorn", "A Thousand Years" and "In The Shadow of the Moon".
