Por las paredes (mil años hace...)

Mil años hace que el sol pasa
reconociendo en cada casa
el hijo que acaba de nacer,
que el monte dibuja perfiles
suaves, de pecho de mujer,
que las flores nacen discretas
y las bestias y la luz también.
Mil años para nuestro bien.

En cada valle una gente
y cada cala esconde
vientos diferentes.

Mil años, que el hombre y la guerra
dieron lengua y nombre a la tierra
y al pueblo que rindió a sus pies,
la plata del olivo griego,
la llama persa del ciprés.
Y el musulmán lo perdió todo,
la casa, el sueño y la heredad
en nombre de la cristiandad.

Íberos y romanos,
fenicios y godos,
moros y cristianos.

En paz descansen esplendores
de amor cortés y trovadores.
Dueños del camino del mar,
no había pez que se atreviese
a transitarlo sin llevar
las cuatro barras en el lomo.
Descansa en paz, ancestral grey
vendida por tu propio rey.

De mártires y traidores
enlutaron tus campos
los inquisidores.

Mil años hace que el sol pasa
pariendo esa curiosa raza
que con su llanto hace un panal.
Y de su sangre y su derrota,
día de fiesta nacional.
Que con la fe del peregrino
jamás dejó de caminar,
de trabajar y de pensar.

Empecinado,
busca lo sublime
en lo cotidiano.

Mil años hace y unas horas
que con manos trabajadoras
se amasa un pueblo de aluvión.
Con sangre murciana y de Almería
se edificó una exposición.
Ferroviarios, labradores,
dulces criadas de Aragón,
caricias de este corazón.

Y lágrimas oscuras
de los andaluces.
Y la dictadura...

Patria pequeña y fronteriza,
mil leches hay en tus cenizas,
pero un soplo de libertad
revuelve el monte, el campesino,
el marinero y la ciudad.
Que la ignorancia no te niegue,
que no trafique el mercader
con lo que un pueblo quiere ser.

Lo están gritando
siempre que pueden,
lo andan pintando

por las paredes...
