The Melvins sono una band hard rock/metal formatasi nello stato di Washington negli anni '80. Il nucleo del gruppo è costituito dal cantante e chitarrista Buzz Osborne, noto come "King Buzzo", e dal batterista Dale Crover. Influenzati inizialmente da band hardcore punk come Black Flag, hanno incorporato elementi heavy metal di gruppi come Black Sabbath, creando un sound unico che li ha resi una realtà underground di culto.
