Caetano Veloso (Salvador, 7 aprile 1942) è uno dei cantautori più influenti del Brasile. Negli anni '60, a Rio de Janeiro, diventa parte del movimento Tropicália, un'esplosione culturale che mescolava elementi tradizionali brasiliani con influenze internazionali come il pop, il psichedelico e il jazz. Œuvre fondamentale del movimento Tropicália, Caetano ha collaborato con artisti come Gilberto Gil, Tom Zé e Gal Costa. Nel 1968, a seguito della censura militare in Brasile, viene esiliato in Londra.
