Senatore Cirenga (Campobasso, February 23, 1993) is an Italian singer-songwriter, linguist, and songwriter active on the Italian music scene since 2012. Initially known by the pseudonym licorice, he explored the world of electronic music. In 2013, he opened the after party of the Traffic Festival in Turin, sharing the stage with international artists such as The XX, James Blake, and Vampire Weekend. In 2014, he released his first self-produced album, "Synesthesiac". In 2016, he was selected among the finalists of the Premio InediTO Colline di Torino. Since 2018, he has started his career as Senatore Cirenga, signing a contract with the Bologna-based label Miraloop Records. He released singles such as "Attese/Il Banco Vince", "Ha Vinto Britney Spears" and "Interlunio/Anche Stanotte", which entered the Top 10 Alternative/Indie of iTunes Italy. Besides music, Senatore Cirenga is also active as a songwriter, collaborating with artists like Gerolamo Sacco and Klavdia. In 2021, "Semantica", his debut album was released, reaching position #2 on the Alternative/Indie chart and #10 on the Top Album chart on iTunes Italy. In 2022, he signed an exclusive editorial contract as a songwriter for BMG Italy. His career continues with important collaborations, including the song "All In" for Antonino and, in 2025, his participation in the Sanremo Festival as the author of the song "Pelle Diamante", performed by Marcella Bella.
