Estrels è una cantautrice romana di ventidue anni nata a San Paolo, Brasile, a luglio del 2001. Dopo un breve periodo a Rio de Janeiro, si trasferisce a Roma nel 2006. Il nome d'arte deriva dalla traduzione portoghese del suo nome, Stella. Fin da piccola è attratta dalla musica, innamorandosi definitivamente all'età di otto anni ascoltando Evanescence e Skillet. Impara l'inglese traducendo i testi delle canzoni che ama e inizia a suonare il pianoforte per tre anni. La sua formazione musicale si arricchisce con la chitarra appresa autodidatticamente a circa dodici anni. Influenzata da artisti come The Fray, Green Day, Coldplay e Linkin Park, Estrels inizia a scrivere canzoni intorno ai quindici anni durante il liceo linguistico.
