Gram Parsons (Ingram Cecil Connor III; January 5, 1946 – September 19, 1973) was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and pianist considered a pioneer of country rock. Born in Waycross, Georgia, Parsons spent his childhood in various cities across the United States before moving to Los Angeles in the 1960s. He began his musical career as a member of The International Submarine Band, with whom he released the album "Safe at Home" in 1968.
