The Kovenant sono un gruppo musicale norvegese formatosi nel 1993. Inizialmente si distinsero per uno stile symphonic black metal, caratterizzato da atmosfere cupe e melodie orchestrali. Nel corso degli anni, la loro musica ha incorporato elementi di industrial metal, creando un sound più oscuro e elettronico, pur mantenendo le radici black metal. Il gruppo cambiò nome da Covenant a The Kovenant nel 1997 per evitare confusione con un altro gruppo omonimo svedese.
