Texas is a Scottish rock band from Bearsden, Glasgow. Founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (formerly of Altered Images and Hipsway), the group made their live debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee in Scotland. The name comes from Wim Wenders' 1984 film *Paris, Texas*.
