Bij Blokker in de Grotestraat trof ik Aladdin
Hij zocht een mooie nieuwe lamp, zo'n Turks geval van tin
Het meisje zei, met oostelijk accent in haar stem:
"Dit is een echte wonderlamp, veur vief guld'n ma'j 'm hemm"
"Ach kom", zei Aladdin "een wonderlamp, gelooft u dat?
Ik geloof in Allah en dat vind ik meer dan zat
Vijf gulden zei u? Kijk, dat is een prijsje naar mijn zin
Maar wonderen? Nee, daar geloof ik echt niet in"
Onmiddellijk kwam uit de lamp een geest, die zei beslist:
"Wie niet gelooft in wonderen is geen realist"
"Excuses", sprak Aladdin, blozend en bedeesd
"Dan denk ik dat ik altijd al wat zweverig ben geweest"
"U mag een wens doen", zei de geest met een vriendelijk gezicht
"Ik lever wonderen op maat en ben zeer clientgericht"
"Dan wens ik honderd jaar te worden", zei Aladdin toen maar
En meteen werd hij veranderd in een man van honderd jaar
"Geintje", zei de geest "ik maak het dadelijk ongedaan"
Maar er was hem op de toverschool blijkbaar iets ontgaan
Want wat hij ook probeerde en bezweerde met zijn lamp
Aladdin bleef honderd jaar, een regelrechte ramp
Dit was niet meer geestig, het werd echt te gek
Het spook begon te zweten en werd rood tot in zijn nek
"Wat is dit nu", riep Aladdin danig uit zijn sas
"Excuses", zei de geest "ik Hocus Pocus nog maar Pas"
En wat is weer uiteindelijk de moraal van het verhaal?:
