David James Archuleta (born December 28, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter of Mexican descent. Known for his powerful and melodic voice, Archuleta rose to international fame by participating in the seventh season of the American talent show American Idol in 2008, where he finished second. Following his run on American Idol, Archuleta released several successful albums, including his self-titled debut album "David Archuleta" (2008) and "Christmas from the Heart" (2009).
