Pat Metheny, born Patrick Bruce Metheny on August 12, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, is one of the most influential and innovative jazz guitarists of all time. He began playing guitar at the age of seven and graduated with a music degree from the University of Miami. Throughout the 1970s, he formed his own group, collaborating with artists like Gary Burton and Lyle Mays. His style is characterized by an original melodic and harmonic approach, influenced by jazz fusion, classical music, and world music sounds. Metheny has won 20 Grammy Awards, including Best Jazz Album in 1983 for "Bright Size Life". Some of his most representative tracks include "Minuano (Live)", “James”, “First Circle” and “The Way Up”. His work has influenced generations of musicians and continues to be appreciated for its originality and beauty.
