Viola Valentino è una cantante italiana, nata nel 1956. Inizia la sua carriera musicale all'inizio degli anni '70 come modella e cantante. Nel 1979 raggiunge il successo nazionale con il singolo "Comprami", che vende un milione di copie in pochi mesi. Segui l'impatto del brano con successi come "Sei una bomba", "Sera coi fiocchi" (1980) e "Giorno popolare" (1981). Nel 1982 partecipa al Festival di Sanremo con il brano "Romantici", che diventa un altro grande successo. Nello stesso anno recita nel film "Delitto sull'autostrada" a fianco di Tomas Milian, interpretando la canzone "Sola" presente nella colonna sonora. Tra i suoi collaboratori più importanti figurano Gianni Bella, Alberto Camerini, Grazia Di Michele, Maurizio Fabrizio, Dario Gay, Bruno Lauzi, Mario Lavezzi, Mogol, Oscar Prudente, Scialpi, Vincenzo Spampinato, Cristiano Malgioglio, Paolo Limiti e Giovanna Nocetti. È stata sposata con Riccardo Fogli dal 1970 fino alla separazione avvenuta negli anni '90. Nel 2004 celebra i venticinque anni di carriera con la doppia raccolta "Made in Virginia vol. 1 e vol. 2". Viola Valentino si è sempre impegnata su temi sociali, affrontando argomenti come la violenza sulle donne nell'album del 2010 "I Tacchi di Giada" e la lotta all'omofobia con il singolo "Domani è un altro giorno", inciso in quattro lingue: italiano, francese, inglese e spagnolo. Nel febbraio 2019 esce la raccolta "Le perle di Viola", con nuove versioni dei suoi storici successi. Nel 2020 segue "E Sarà per sempre". Il suo tredicesimo album, "Gratis", è uscito il 27 ottobre 2023. Da questo autunno e fino al 2024, Viola Valentino sarà in tour con lo spettacolo "Gratis Tour" in tutta Italia.
