Der Kontinent von Atlantis war einst eine Insel
die vor der groen Flut in jenem Gebiet lag
das wir heute den Atlantischen Ozean nennen.
So gro war diese Insel
da von ihren westlichen Ksten
die Seeleute mit Leichtigkeit bis nach Amerika fuhren
auf Schiffen mit bunten Segeln.
Im Osten war Afrika ihr Nachbar
nur wenige Seemeilen entfernt.
Die alten gyptischen Reiche verdankten ihre Kultur Atlantis.
Alle Gtter der mythologischen Dramen und die Legenden aller Lnder
kamen von Atlantis. Seine Knige regierten die Welt.
Aber Atlantis sollte untergeh'n
an seiner eigenen Macht und seinem Hochmut.
Sein Schicksal ahnend
sandte es Schiffe aus in alle Winkel der Erde
an Bord die Zwlf: der Poet
der Bauer
der Arzt
der Wissenschaftler
der Magier
und die anderen sogenannten Gtter unserer Legenden.
Doch da die Ahnen unserer Zeit es vorzogen blind zu bleiben
lat uns zurckschauen und singen und tanzen und Atlantis gedenken.
