Lou Monte, stage name of Louis Scaglione (1926-2007), was an American singer of Italian descent known for his folk music and comedic style. Born in New York to Sicilian parents, Monte began his musical career in the 1950s singing in Italian venues around the city. His breakthrough came with the song "Buona Sera", which reached national charts in 1962.
