George Michael, born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou (London, June 25, 1963 – London, December 25, 2016), was a British singer of pop, rock, soul and R and B music. With around 100 million records sold, he is one of the most successful British musical artists, both at home and abroad. Initially a member of the pop duo Wham!, he embarked on a successful solo career in 1987 with the album «Faith», which won two Grammy Awards in the United States (as an R and B artist, despite being white). The album was accompanied by a highly successful world tour. He subsequently released other albums such as «Listen Without Prejudice, Vol. 1» and «Older».
