Luna Sea is a Japanese rock band formed in Tokyo in 1989. The founding members are Ryuichi Kawamura (vocals), Yasuhiro "Sugizo" Sugihara (guitar), Shinobu "Inoran" Inoue (guitar), Jun "J." Onose (bass) and Shinya Yamada (drums). This lineup remained unchanged until the band's disbandment in 2000. Luna Sea achieved great commercial success during the 1990s, selling millions of records in Japan and becoming one of the most popular rock bands in the country.
