Wckr Spgt è un gruppo musicale formatosi nel 1981 a Claremont, in California. Influenzati dal dadaismo e dal punk rock, hanno fatto parte di un movimento pionieristico incentrato sull'home recording sperimentale e sulla cultura del nastro cassetta, che evolverà in seguito in lo-fi e indie rock. Il gruppo è composto da Joel Huschle, Mark Givens e Dave Carpenter, con una lunga lista di musicisti ospiti nel corso degli anni, tra cui John Darnielle dei The Mountain Goats, Ian Carlson dei The Desperation Squad e i membri di Nothing Painted Blue (Franklin Bruno, Kyle Brodie e Peter Hughes).
