Patrick Pierre Hernandez (born March 19, 1953) is a French singer and songwriter best known for his international hit single "Born to Be Alive" released in 1980. Hernandez began his musical career in the 1970s as a member of a rock band. In 1979, he transitioned to disco music, releasing his debut album "Patrick Hernandez" in 1980.
