Ritchie Valens, pseudonimo di Richard Steven Valenzuela (Pasadena, 13 maggio 1941 – Clear Lake, Iowa, 3 febbraio 1959), è stato un cantante e chitarrista statunitense di origini messicane. Considerato uno dei pionieri del rock and roll latino, ha lasciato un'impronta indelebile nella musica americana grazie alla sua energia contagiosa e al suo stile musicale unico che fondeva elementi di rock 'n' roll, country e musica latina. La sua carriera, purtroppo interrotta prematuramente in un incidente aereo all'età di 17 anni, durò solo tre anni ma fu intensa e ricca di successi.
