Superchunk sono una band indie rock americana proveniente da Chapel Hill, nella Carolina del Nord. Fondati nel 1989, il gruppo è composto da Mac McCaughan (voce, chitarra), Jim Wilbur (chitarra), Laura Ballance (basso) e Jon Wurster (batteria). Il loro sound, caratterizzato da un'energia frenetica e riff veloci, trae ispirazione dal punk rock. Superchunk hanno pubblicato una decina di album in studio, tra cui "No Pocky for Kitty" (1991), "Foolish" (1994) e "Here's to Shutting Up" (2001).
