Altered Images were a Scottish new wave/post-punk band active in the early 1980s. Led by lead singer Clare Grogan, the group achieved popularity with their most well-known hit "Happy Birthday". The Altered Images sound was characterized by catchy melodies, ironic lyrics and an infectious synth-pop atmosphere. Besides "Happy Birthday", other successful tracks include "See That Girl" and "Don't Talk To Me About Love". The band released four studio albums: "The First Time" (1981), "Pinky Blue" (1982), "Bite" (1983) and "Enchanted" (1984). After the end of Altered Images, Clare Grogan continued to work as an actress and solo singer.
