Grupo Niche is a Colombian salsa group founded in Bogotá in 1978 by Jairo Varela and Alexis Lozano. Currently based in Cali, they enjoy great popularity throughout Latin America. Jairo Varela remained with the group, becoming producer, director, songwriter, vocalist, and guiro player. Alexis Lozano, trumpeter, later left to form Orquesta Guayacan.
