John Herndon Mercer, known as Johnny Mercer, was a prolific American songwriter, composer, and singer born in Savannah, Georgia, in 1909. Considered one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century, he made significant contributions to jazz, swing, and pop music. His career spanned over five decades, marked by collaborations with artists like Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Ella Fitzgerald.
