Rosa Balistreri (Palermo, 1927 – Palermo, 2010) è stata una cantante e compositrice italiana di fama internazionale, nota soprattutto per la sua interpretazione del repertorio musicale siciliano tradizionale. Nata a Palermo nel 1927, Rosa Balistreri iniziò la sua carriera artistica negli anni '50, collaborando con importanti musicisti italiani come Enzo Gragnaniello e Franco Battiato. La sua voce potente e caratteristica, unita alla sua profonda conoscenza della tradizione musicale siciliana, le valse il successo in Italia e all'estero. Tra i suoi brani più famosi figurano "A lu munnu", "La luna" e "Canti Siciliani". Nel corso della sua lunga carriera ha inciso numerosi album, tra cui "Rosa Balistreri canta la tradizione siciliana" (1978) e "Canzoni di Sicilia" (1992).
