Bobby Freeman (born June 13, 1940) is an American soul singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for his 1958 hit "Do You Want To Dance?", which reached number two on the US charts. The song was later covered by numerous artists, including Del Shannon, The Beach Boys, Bette Midler, John Lennon, Cliff Richard, The Mamas and The Papas and the Ramones. Freeman also achieved success in 1964 with "C'mon and Swim", written and produced by the then twenty-year-old Sylvester Stewart, later known as Sly Stone.
