Jimmy Cliff, stage name of James Chambers (1948), is a legendary Jamaican singer and musician considered one of the pioneers of international reggae. Born in Saint Catherine Parish, Jamaica, Cliff began his musical career in the 1960s with the group The Wailing Wailers, collaborating with Bob Marley before his solo success. His musical style is characterized by a mix of reggae, ska and rocksteady, often accompanied by lyrics that address social and political themes. Cliff achieved worldwide fame in 1972 with the film "The Harder They Come", in which he played the lead role and sang the soundtrack, including the unforgettable song "Many Rivers to Cross". This success consecrated him as a reggae icon and helped spread this genre worldwide. Among his most famous songs are also "Wonderful World, Beautiful People", "You Can Get It If You Really Want" and "Vietnam".
