Ian Dury and the Blockheads are a British musical group active between the 1970s and 1980s. Founded by Ian Dury, singer, musician, and poet, the band is known for its ska-punk music with influences of rockabilly and cabaret. Dury, born in Harrow in 1942, had a childhood marked by polio which caused permanent paralysis to his right leg. This event deeply influenced his artistic path, fueling his irony and his ability to tell stories from the perspective of those who are different.
