Freddy Breck, nato Gerhard Breker (1927-2008), è stato un celebre cantante, compositore e showman tedesco. La sua carriera musicale iniziò negli anni '50 con il genere Schlager, diventando rapidamente uno dei più popolari artisti tedeschi. La sua voce calda e melodiosa, insieme a testi romantici e orecchiabili, lo resero un idolo del pubblico. Breck ha collaborato con numerosi compositori di successo come Werner Scharfenberger e Hans-Günther Schmidt. Tra i suoi brani più famosi ricordiamo "Einmal im Jahr", "Das kleine blaue Klavier" e "Die Gitarre und das Meer". La sua musica è spesso associata a un'atmosfera nostalgica e romantica, che ha contribuito a definire lo stile del Schlager tedesco negli anni '60 e '70. Breck ha continuato a registrare album e a esibirsi fino alla fine degli anni '90, lasciando un'eredità musicale significativa nel panorama musicale tedesco.
