Velvet Revolver is an American hard rock band formed in 2002. The group consists of former Guns N' Roses members Slash (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums), alongside Scott Weiland (vocals) from Stone Temple Pilots and Dave Kushner (guitar) formerly of Wasted Youth. The lineup was completed after a public audition, televised as *VH1 Inside Out: The Rise of Velvet Revolver*, to find a vocalist. The band released two studio albums: *Contraband* (2004), which topped the US charts and sold over 7 million copies, and *Libertad* (2007).
