The Jam were a legendary British punk rock band formed in 1976 in Woking, Surrey, by the multi-talented Paul Weller. Influenced by artists like The Beatles, The Kinks and The Who, they managed to blend melodic sounds with a decisive rhythm and a punk charge that made them one of the most important bands in the British music scene of the 1970s and 1980s.
