Far from you

By: Brett M. Baker
9/11/03

I'm running away from you (but in my mind)
You're to damn fast (I can't get away)
I try to block you out (you find another way)
All the things you did (didn't phase me)
There's nothing you can do to (amaze me)

I look into your eyes (I see nothing)
Why did I stay (who fucking Knows).
Now I know the troubles (weren't worth it)
I wish that I knew (a lot earlier)
You treated me like shit (almost all the time)
You made me feel like shit (on the inside)

Chorus

I climbed out on a limb (you cut it down)
So you could watch me fall (I hope it's far from you)
I moving on to better things, better people, better situations,
I'm moving to a better place (that better place is far from you).

Chorus

When the fake tears start to fill your eyes (I will not care)
When you need a hug from someone (I will not be there)
When you need a shoulder to lean on (my shoulder; I won't share)
When you need someone to call (don't you even dare)

Chorus 2x w/ fading

Thank you because you correct this lyrics

Biografia

Pavement is an American indie rock band formed in Stockton, California, in 1989. Considered one of the most influential bands of the 1990s indie rock movement, Pavement gained a large fanbase thanks to their sound characterized by melodic riffs, ironic and experimental lyrics, and a relaxed and carefree atmosphere. The group consists of Stephen Malkmus (vocals, guitar), Scott Kannberg (guitar), Mark Ibold (bass), Bob Nastanovich (percussion) and Gary Young (drums). Among their most important albums are "Slanted and Enchanted" (1992), considered a classic of the indie rock genre, and "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" (1994), which consolidated the band's success. Other notable albums include "Wowee Zowee" (1995) and "Brighten the Corners" (1997). Pavement disbanded in 1999 but reunited for some concerts in subsequent years, including a world tour in 2010. Their impact on indie rock music is still evident today, with numerous artists citing Pavement as a source of inspiration.
