Standing waiting for a man to show
Wide eyed one eye fixed on the door
This waitings killing me, its wearing me down
Day in day out, my feet are burning holes in the ground
Darkness warmer than a bedroom floor
Want someone to hold me close forever more
Im a sleeping dog, but you cant tell
When Im on the prowl yould better run like hell
You know it makes sense, dont even think about it
Life and death are just things you do when youre bored
Say fears a mans best friend
You add it up it brings you down
Home is living like a man on the run
Trails leading nowhere, where to my son?
Were already dead, just not yet in the ground
Take my helping hand Ill show you around
You know it makes sense, dont even think about it
Life and death are just things you do when youre bored
Say fears a mans best friend
You add it up it brings you down
John Cale is a Welsh musician and composer born in 1942. After studying music in London and New York, he joined The Velvet Underground in 1965, significantly contributing to their experimental and distinctive sound in the first two albums. Cale introduced the droning viola sound, a characteristic element of songs like "Venus In Furs". After the album *White Light/White Heat*, he left the band due to musical differences with Lou Reed. Cale desired to continue exploring experimental sounds, while Reed gravitated towards simpler pop songs. Cale embarked on a successful solo career, releasing albums such as *Vintage Violence* (1970) and *Paris 1919* (1973), influencing genres like experimental rock, ambient, and electronic music. Among his most representative tracks are "Gideon", "The Endless Plain of Glass" and "Hallelujah".
