Avec de grands yeux noirs et doux;
Voyant sa frimousse aguichante
Comme un beau jour qui vous enchante;

Biografia

Yves Montand, stage name of Ivo Livi (Marseille, October 13, 1921 – Paris, November 9, 1991), was an Italian-born French singer and actor. Considered one of the greatest interpreters of French chanson in the 20th century, Montand combined vocal power with a deep interpretive sensibility. His career, which began in the 1940s in France, saw him collaborate with some of the most important names in French music and cinema, including Charles Aznavour, Edith Piaf and Jean-Luc Godard. Among his most famous songs are "Les Feuilles Mortes", "La Vie en Rose" (cover of Édith Piaf) and "Le Chant des Partisans". Montand also starred in numerous films, earning international recognition for his performance in "Red Sky" (1964), directed by Jean-Luc Godard. His figure remains a point of reference for French and Italian culture.
