For God's Sake
(Track 13 on "Dizzy Mizz Lizzy")
Here we are
in the middle of the night
single's bar
and the madman is out to get me
Loosen up
with a bottle of beer
but wait now stop
there's a big chick coming over to see me
She wants my love for just one night
I should say no but said alright
And we're not lovers for God's sake
and teasin' isn't fair
I don't love her for God's sake
and I don't really care
But her mind's out of line
Sinkin' low
in the middle of the night
here I go
and the madman is out to get me
In a storm
in the middle of the night
on the run
and the madman is out to get me
She wanted my love for just one night
I should say no but said alright
And we're not lovers for God's sake
and teasin' isn't fair
I don't love her for God's sake
and I don't really care
But her mind's out of line
Dizzy Mizz Lizzy is a Danish alternative rock band formed in 1988. The original lineup consisted of Tim Christensen (vocals, guitar), Martin Nielsen (bass guitar) and Soren Friis (drums). After a hiatus that began in 1998, the band announced their comeback in 2009. Although they achieved great success domestically, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy failed to reach the same level of international popularity, with the exception of Japan, where they sold around 100,000 copies of their albums. Their sound is characterized by powerful guitar riffs, catchy melodies and English lyrics that range from personal themes to social reflections. Among their most representative songs are "La La Land", "The Sun Is Shining" and "I'm Not Your Man".

My favorite group when I was just a teenager were the Fugees, thanks to them a certain curiosity about english language was born in me. I wanted to know and understand the lyrics of their songs, it wasn't enough for me to be carried away exclusively by their beautiful music.
