Dan Hartman (Daniel Earl Hartman), born in New York on September 27, 1951, was an American singer-songwriter and record producer known for his pop-rock music with funk and soul influences. His musical career began in the 1970s, collaborating with artists like The Tubes and Blue Öyster Cult. Hartman achieved international success in 1984 with the single "I Can Dream About You", which became a classic of the era. Other successful tracks include "Relight My Fire" (in collaboration with Survivor) and "Instant Replay". Hartman was also a talented record producer, working with artists like The Cars and Michael Jackson.
