Il Buena Vista Social Club fu un locale di Havana, Cuba, che ospitava balli e attività musicali, diventando un punto di ritrovo popolare per i musicisti durante gli anni '40. Nel 1990, quasi 50 anni dopo la chiusura del club, ha ispirato una registrazione realizzata dal musicista cubano Juan de Marcos González e dal chitarrista americano Ry Cooder con musicisti cubani tradizionali, alcuni dei quali veterani che avevano suonato al club durante il suo periodo di maggiore popolarità.
