Minor Threat were an American hardcore punk band active from 1980 to 1983, considered one of the cornerstones of the Washington D.C. hardcore scene. Founded by Ian MacKaye (vocals) and Jeff Nelson (guitar), the band profoundly influenced punk music with a raw and fast sound, characterized by aggressive riffs and politically and socially charged lyrics.
