Ahmet Kaya (28 ottobre 1957 – 16 novembre 2000) è stato un poeta, cantautore e artista turco di origini curde. Considerato uno dei più importanti cantautori della Turchia, Kaya ha dedicato la sua musica alla lotta per i diritti civili e culturali del popolo curdo. Le sue canzoni, spesso in lingua turca ma anche in kurdo, sono caratterizzate da un forte impatto emotivo e da testi che affrontano temi come l'oppressione, la libertà e l'identità. Tra le sue canzoni più famose ricordiamo "Protect Yourself", "My Heart is Bleeding", "A Strange Man", "Ayrilik Vakti", Kocero e Agladikca ("As We Cry").
