Faces were a British rock band active from 1969 to 1975. They formed after the departure of Steve Marriott from The Small Faces, with the original lineup consisting of Ronnie Lane (bass), Ian McLagan (keyboards), Kenney Jones (drums) and Rod Stewart (vocals). Their sound was characterized by a mix of classic rock and roll, blues and pub rock influences, with often ironic and self-deprecating lyrics. Among their most famous songs are "Stay With Me", "Pool Hall Richard" and "Ooh La La". The album "A Nod Is As Good As A Wink... To a Blind Horse" (1971) is considered a classic of the genre. After Lane's departure in 1973, the band disbanded in 1975. Rod Stewart went on to have a highly successful solo career, while the other members continued to collaborate on various musical projects.
