Jimmy Ruffin (born May 7, 1939) is an American soul singer, and elder brother of the late David Ruffin of The Temptations. He had several hit records between the 1960s and 1980s, the most successful being "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted". Ruffin began his musical career in the 1950s with a local group called The Primes. In 1966 he signed with Soul Records and released his debut album, "The Jimmy Ruffin Album". His biggest success came in 1969 with the single "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Ruffin continued to record music for various record labels until the 1980s, releasing several successful albums. Among his most notable songs are also "Hold On to My Love", "I've Got the Feeling" and "Love Is Like a Symphony".
