The "Horst-Wessel-Lied", also known as "Die Fahne hoch", was the official anthem of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) from 1930 to 1945. Composed by Alfred Rose with music by Rudolf Wagner-Régeny, the song celebrated Horst Wessel, a party member who died in a conflict in 1930. After the Nazi Party became the only legal party in Germany in 1933, the "Horst-Wessel-Lied" was adopted as the national anthem alongside the first verse of the "Lied der Deutschen". The song was often performed at Nazi political rallies and represented a powerful symbol of Nazi propaganda. After the end of World War II, the "Horst-Wessel-Lied" was banned in Germany and considered a fascist anthem.
