The Undead sono un gruppo horror punk formatosi nel 1980 a New Milford, New Jersey. Il nucleo fondatore era composto da Bobby Steele (chitarra), Chris Natz (basso) e Patrick Blanck (batteria). La formazione nacque subito dopo che Bobby Steele fu cacciato dai Misfits, la band horror punk di culto con cui aveva già collaborato. The Undead hanno contribuito a definire l'horror punk degli anni '80 con un sound crudo e aggressivo, influenzati da gruppi come i Ramones e i Damned. Sebbene non abbiano raggiunto lo stesso livello di successo dei Misfits, hanno comunque una solida base di fan e sono considerati una delle band più importanti del genere horror punk.
