Sam and Dave were an American soul and rhythm and blues (R and B) duo who performed together from 1961 through 1981. The tenor (higher) voice was Samuel David Moore (born Samuel David Hicks on October 12, 1935 in Winchester, Georgia) and the baritone/tenor (lower) voice was Dave Prater (May 9, 1937, Ocilla, Georgia - April 9, 1988, Sycamore, Georgia).
