Time is sure passin' slow
Lord, it's only half past ten
One too many times tonight
You just crossed my mind again
I just can't help but wonder
Why we had that final fight
And if we hadn't given up
I wonder where we'd be tonight
It's just about all that I can do
To keep from pickin' up the phone
'Cause I'm afraid that if you answer
I might find you're not alone
I can't stand the thought that someone else
Could make your world seem bright
And if we were still together, girl
I wonder where we'd be tonight.
How would it be
Would you still love the way you used to
Would you believe in me
Could I still be inside the heart of you?
Would you take me in your lovin' arms
And make everything all right
And if we were still hangin' on
I wonder where we'd be tonight.
I just can't get you off my mind
God I wonder where you are tonight...
Vern Gosdin (August 5, 1934 – April 28, 2009) was an American country music singer. As a young man, he idolized artists like The Louvin Brothers and The Blue Sky Boys, even singing in a gospel quartet called The Gosdin Brothers. Gosdin inherited the soulful honky tonk style of Lefty Frizzell and Merle Haggard, earning him the nickname “The Voice” among his peers. He had 19 top-ten solo hits on the Country music charts from the late 1970s through the early 1990s, with three reaching number one: "I Can Tell By the Way You Dance (You're Gonna Love Me Tonight)", "Set 'Em Up Joe" and "I'm Still Crazy".

My favorite group when I was just a teenager were the Fugees, thanks to them a certain curiosity about english language was born in me. I wanted to know and understand the lyrics of their songs, it wasn't enough for me to be carried away exclusively by their beautiful music.
